John — Minutes after the Supreme Court decision came down this morning, abortion became fully illegal in Missouri.
We’ve known this was going to happen since the leak in May. For more than a month, our politicians had every chance to take action and preserve the right to abortion by eliminating the filibuster and codifying Roe v. Wade.
But instead of protecting our freedom, politicians Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema have stood in the way of action. They think things like “decorum” and an archaic Senate procedure like the filibuster are more important.
We might have a Democratic majority in the Senate, but let me be clear about this: That’s not good enough. We need to fundamentally change who has power in our country — that’s why I’m in this race.
