The Week in Review
Happy Friday!
I spent most of my week in Washington D.C. as the House was back in session for the third consecutive week. It was a busy week, so I hope you’ll read below to learn about the important happenings:
Historic Supreme Court Decision (and Victory) Surrounding Roe v. Wade
Today, the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) overruled Roe v. Wade in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision.
Today’s decision is a major victory for the pro-life movement and all unborn children. Nearly 50 years ago, judicial activists, ruling from the bench, federalized abortion.
This historic decision will save the lives of millions of unborn children. I have always been committed to fighting for the sanctity of life. Life is the most precious thing we are given and everyone, especially the unborn, deserves this right. I will continue to fight for the life of the unborn.
I am grateful for the Supreme Court justices who were true to the Constitution and for President Trump who appointed these justices.
Radical Senate Gun Control Act Passes House of Representatives
Today, I voted against Democrats’ most recent gun control legislation. This legislation infringes on Americans’ God-given, constitutionally protected Second Amendment rights.
Gun control does not stop criminals because criminals have no regard for the law. I am committed to finding solutions to address gun violence, but we cannot infringe on the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans. Click below to watch my floor speech on this matter:
Hearing on Bidenflation and Biden’s Energy Crisis at The Heritage Foundation
This week, I held an off-site hearing to discuss Bidenflation and Biden’s energy crisis at The Heritage Foundation. The hearing featured prominent House Republican lawmakers and four expert witnesses. We examined the Biden Administration’s policies that have led to a disastrous economic and energy state for the country. My colleagues and I discussed solutions to address historic gas prices, record inflation, and how to become energy independent again.
Congressional members included Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas), Rep. Dan Bishop (R-N.C.), Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-Calif.), Rep. Ralph Norman (R-S.C.), Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), Rep. Barry Moore (R-Ala.), Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.), Rep. Bob Good (R-Va.), and Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.)
Expert witnesses included Mr. Rick Perry, former Governor of Texas and former Secretary of the Department of Energy, Mr. Stephen Moore, Heritage Foundation Distinguished Fellow, Ms. Kathleen Sgamma, President of Western Energy Alliance, and Mr. Alex Epstein, President of the Center for Industrial Progress.
I’d like to thank my congressional colleagues, the expert witnesses, The Heritage Foundation, and my staff for organizing this necessary hearing. Click the image below to watch the hearing:
Fourth Amendment Restoration Act Reintroduction
This week, I reintroduced the Fourth Amendment Restoration Act, a bill that fully repeals the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), prohibits warrantless surveillance of American citizens, and holds accountable any federal official who violates the law.
We cannot continue to provide our government with clandestine spying powers that violate the Fourth Amendment rights of Americans. It’s imperative to have a surveillance apparatus to address national security concerns, but it also must protect Americans’ constitutional rights.
This legislation is necessary as we’ve uncovered countless FISA system abuses in recent years. From the Obama Administration weaponizing it to sabotage Trump campaign officials to the FBI exploiting it to target millions of law-abiding Americans who were neither suspected of crimes nor national security concerns, FISA abuse is rampant and occurring at all levels in this country.
We cannot allow rogue and power-hungry individuals to repeat constitutional violations of American citizens. This legislation will prevent the government from infringing on our sacred Fourth Amendment rights.
The legislation may be read here.
Meeting with Turning Point USA Students in D.C.
I met with a group of students from Turning Point USA at the Conservative Partnership Institute in Washington D.C. and had a chance to discuss the conservative movement with the next generation of conservative leaders.
It’s important more than ever to instill conservative values in our younger generation as the radical Left continues to indoctrinate this demographic in schooling.
I thank Turning Point USA and the Conservative Partnership Institute for holding this discussion.

What’s the Biggs Idea? Podcast w/ Former Acting CBP Commissioner Mark Morgan
This week, I recorded my video podcast “What’s the Bigg’s Idea?”. The episode was live-streamed on my Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube pages and garnered thousands of views in 24 hours.
Mark Morgan, the former acting commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, served as the episode’s guest. Mr. Morgan is now a senior fellow at the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) and a visiting fellow at The Heritage Foundation. We provided updates on Biden’s Border Crisis, explained why the Yuma Sector is experiencing record numbers of border encounters, and discussed solutions needed to regain control of the southern border.
We’ll be posting more episodes soon. Check out our social media pages for more updates.

Definition of the Week
This week, the Supree Court of the United States (SCOTUS) struck down a New York gun-control law that required people to show "proper cause" to get a license to carry a concealed handgun outside the home. The law effectively prohibited a citizen from carrying a handgun outside their home.
In a 6-3 decision, with Justice Clarence Thomas writing the majority opinion, SCOTUS reinforced that the right of Americans to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Law-abiding Americans have a right to keep and bear arms whether at home or outside of it.
This was a major victory and was released on Justice Thomas’ 74th birthday. The Second Amendment rights for citizens across the country are better preserved now.
Courtesy of Michael Knowles’ Speechless, here’s what we think is the latest definition:
Justice Clarence Thomas (Noun): A true American patriot and constitutional guru.
