Friend –

In a devastating decision that will reverberate for generations, the U.S.
Supreme Court this morning overturned Roe v. Wade – shockingly ruling
there is no federal constitutional right to abortion.

Today’s decision, which recklessly disregards nearly 50 years of
precedent, marks the first time in history that the Supreme Court has
taken away a fundamental constitutional right.

And if today’s decision wasn’t bad enough, Justice Thomas has clearly
indicated that our rights to contraception, marriage equality and same-sex
intimate relationships, to name just a few, are next up for revocation by
the far-right justices on the Court.

You’re probably feeling angry right now – we are too. Here are four things
you can do today in response to this horrible decision:

 1. Attend a “Bans Off Our Bodies” protest rally this evening – [ [link removed] ]click
here to find the event closest to you.

 2. [ [link removed] ]Send a message to Congress demanding that they pass the Women’s
Health Protection Act and enshrine Roe v. Wade protections into
federal law.

 3. Make your voting plan for November now, and encourage all your friends
to do so as well. The right to bodily autonomy will be on the ballot
at every level of government, from U.S. Senate to city council.

 4. Commit to increasing voter turnout this fall by [ [link removed] ]signing up to write
letters to infrequent voters with Vote Forward's 'Big Send' project.

Make no mistake about it – the path to restoring our constitutional right
to access abortion care will not be a short or easy one.

But with massive voter turnout this fall we can expand reproductive
freedom majorities in Congress, enshrine that freedom in federal law (thus
stopping the state and local attacks on abortion access), and secure the
Senate votes necessary to confirm another pro-reproductive rights voice on
the Supreme Court should a vacancy occur.
