John,
I'm sure you're inundated with emails and alerts about the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
I’m reeling from the news and deeply concerned about its implications. I’m thinking about all of the Americans who live in states where Roe isn’t enshrined into law.
I’m also thinking about my daughter, who now has fewer rights at the federal level than the women who fought for Roe’s passage decades ago.
I’m more motivated than ever to protect my seat and keep the House blue so we can codify Roe v. Wade into federal law.
As we await more news, I wanted to check in with you and urge you not to give up hope. I will continue to be an advocate in Congress for women because a woman’s right to choose should be made between a woman, her health care provider, and her faith.
I know this is a confusing and frustrating time, but I want to assure you that I’m fighting like hell for your rights and freedoms.
In solidarity,
Elaine
