John,
I am a nurse and a parent who loves her state, and all my life, I’ve worked to help others. I have always believed people deserve quality, compassionate healthcare – including access to contraception and abortion care.
|
But now the Supreme Court has undone the nearly 50-year-old precedent set by Roe v. Wade that guarantees people the right to choose an abortion.
|
Right now, in 13 states across the country, including Missouri, abortion is outright banned. Millions of Americans have lost a crucial freedom that we have counted on for decades.
We need to protect the legal right to have an abortion nationwide, full stop. Abortion care should be affordable and accessible to everyone. This especially includes low-income people and people of color, who will be disproportionately impacted by this.
|
To those reeling from this news, I'm here to say: I'm with you. As a healthcare worker, I believe everyone deserves access to the very best medical care. As a concerned citizen, I marched alongside my neighbors. And as your next senator, I will work relentlessly for my constituents to be able to make their decisions with their doctors.

Extremist politicians won’t just stop at abortion. If we don’t act now, we will see even basic freedoms like access to contraception come next.
In a moment like this, we all need to raise our voices to protect reproductive freedom. John, please sign your name now to fight back and demand Congress immediately codify Roe v. Wade.

John, make no mistake: This Supreme Court ruling is a result of decades of Washington schemes and dealmaking, and now, I urgently need your help to fight back. So please, sign the petition to join our fight to protect reproductive freedom and demand Roe v. Wade be codified into law.

Thank you for joining me,
– Trudy Busch Valentine
