John,
I am sorry to be reaching out to you under these circumstances. Today, the conservative majority on the US Supreme Court did exactly what they set out to do and overturned Roe v. Wade . To be clear: In Delaware, abortions are still legal, accessible, and protected– and that’s not changing .
In 2017, after years of GOP attempts to restrict reproductive healthcare access, Delaware Democrats saw the writing on the walls and codified abortion rights into our state’s constitution. Because of that, abortions will remain legal, safe, and accessible in the First State.
The court’s decision to overturn 50 years of precedent, allowing states to strip away basic rights we once thought were guaranteed, is as enraging as it is heartbreaking. Our rights in Delaware are firmly protected in our constitution, but it’s unacceptable that across the country, our daughters will inherit a future in which they will have fewer rights, opportunities, and freedoms than we did.
I am livid– and I am not giving up until safe, legal abortion is accessible nationwide, not just in Delaware. Please pitch in TONIGHT to help us elect more Democrats who will never waver in their dedication to protecting reproductive rights. [[link removed]]

It will now fall on voters to continue to elect pro-choice Democrats who will protect our rights. I hope you’ll join me.
In solidarity with women across the nation,
