Protecting the Unborn
Today, the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) decided in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization to overturn Roe v. Wade. This historic ruling affirms that there is no constitutional right to abortion, and returns power to the American people to speak through their elected officials to enact laws that protect unborn children.
This is a day that the pro-life movement has prayed for and worked toward for 50 years. Every life is precious, and this decision will no doubt result in countless unborn lives being saved. I will continue pushing to protect and defend unborn children. Nothing can be more important.
The Department of Homeland Security has issued notices that radical pro-abortion groups are plotting a "night of rage" in response to the SCOTUS decision. Unfortunately, some Democrats in Congress like Maxine Waters and AOC are calling for extremists to "fight" and go "into the streets."
No violence is acceptable. Federal, state, and local law enforcement officers must be vigilant in protecting Supreme Court Justices and their families, pro-life institutions, and churches.

Voting to Protect the Second Amendment
Today, I voted no on the Senate gun bill. As a fierce defender of our Constitutional Rights, including the Second Amendment, I believe this bill infringes upon the rights of law-abiding Americans.
House Republicans proposed an alternative bill, the Secure Every School and Protect our Nation’s Children (STOP II) Act. This legislation would fund school resource officers and mental health counselors, close gaps in school security, and strengthen active shooter preparedness efforts, with all costs being offset by unused state and local COVID funds. Unfortunately, this was voted down.
I remain open and willing to discuss initiatives to promote public safety, but not at the expense of our Second Amendment.

Reimbursing Texas for President Biden's Southern Border Catastrophe
The Biden Administration has abdicated its responsibility to keep our communities safe by securing the southern border. While Texas has stepped up to protect our country, the economic and safety burden is not one that our state should have to bear.
I have joined with fellow Texans in introducing the Lone Star Reimbursement Act. The State of Texas has poured nearly $1.5 billion into Operation Lone Star. Border security should not fall on the shoulders of Texans, and our local communities deserve to be paid back.
Our plan sends the invoice for the border crisis to where it belongs: the President’s desk.

Advocating for American Energy Producers
This week, President Biden published five actions he has taken to supposedly "lower gas prices," including draining our emergency oil reserves, calling on foreign nations to increase production, expanding biofuels, placing the blame on oil & gas producers for high prices, and asking Congress to suspend the federal gas tax.
Not only are these actions not helpful, but they also harm American energy producers and American energy dominance.
I took the liberty of correcting the record and fixing the President's graphic:

Protecting Women in Sports
As a father of three girls, I want my daughters to have every opportunity possible to pursue their dreams and achieve their goals. Camille and I want them to have fair competition and equality in their pursuits.
This week we celebrated the half-century of Title IX, which has given girls like my daughters access to fair competition for the last 50 years.
Unfortunately, President Biden is attempting to expand the definition to allow biological males to compete against women. This is not equality, this is an attack on equality.
I am supporting the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, which ensures that women and girls are allowed a fair playing field in competitive sports by ensuring that school athletics comply with the recognition of a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth.

Border Security is National Security
President Biden continues to allow threats to enter our country through the southern border. The economic and security costs to our community - and our country - are huge.
It only took 19 evil actors to execute the deadly 9/11 attacks on American soil. Now, 15 possible terrorists have been caught in only one month. How many more are in the nearly 500,000 who got away in the past nine months alone?
This number would still be hidden from the American public if not for the efforts of Ranking Member Katko and myself to force the Biden Administration to publish the number of Known and Suspected Terrorists (KSTs) apprehended along the border.
Border security IS national security. Click here or below to learn more about my efforts to stand up for our communities here.

Welcoming U.S. Rep. Mayra Flores
This week I joined my colleagues in welcoming Congresswoman Mayra Flores from the Rio Grande Valley! She is a Mexican immigrant, the wife of a U.S. Border Patrol agent, and a Republican who won a seat controlled by Democrats for more than 150 years.
In her remarks as the newest Member of Congress, she said “Our people deserve to have an opportunity, security, and freedom.”
I am incredibly proud to serve with her to restore family values to America, and I look forward to all the work we have ahead of us on behalf of the people of Texas!
