As I’m sure you’ve heard, a right-wing majority on the Supreme Court just overturned Roe v. Wade — eliminating our constitutional right to reproductive freedom and disregarding nearly 50 years of precedent.

This is not what the American people want. This is Republican politicians putting the government in charge of your pregnancy. Full stop.

Our last line of defense for federal protection of safe, legal abortion is the U.S. Senate. It is urgent that we defend and expand our majority in order to pass legislation to codify abortion rights into law.

Let’s be clear: this decision to overturn Roe has been a longstanding goal of the Republican party. And if they take back the Senate, they are set on trying to pass a national abortion ban. They want the government and politicians to make the most personal decisions about your bodies and your families.

The last thing our country needs right now is more men in Congress telling women what to do with their bodies. But that’s Cheri’s opponent Ted Budd — he believes abortion should be entirely banned without any exceptions for rape, incest, or in cases where the mother’s health is at risk.

We need Cheri in the U.S. Senate, and she needs us to have her back right now — to fight like hell and win this race.
