Hi John,

I know you’re getting email after email regarding the Supreme Court’s official announcement of its decision to overturn Roe v. Wade . This decision is a devastating blow for women across this country. It is also a rallying cry - the fight is now in our hands .

This is about more than abortion – it’s about personal choice, freedom, and access to healthcare. And it’s about a person’s decision to choose when and if they’re ready to take on the greatest responsibility in life, parenthood.

When my wife and I decided we were ready to have a family, we underwent a two-year process using IVF in order to get pregnant with our first daughter. It was a long and difficult journey, but it was well worth it, and it was what we CHOSE to do. As a result of the court's decision, in many states across the country, laws will immediately go into effect that will not only make abortion a criminal offense, but may limit or even entirely eliminate access to the IVF process.

Overturning Roe v. Wade doesn’t just put reproductive rights at risk, it undermines the essential right to be able to make your own decisions about your body, your family, and your future. That is not freedom!

Without federal protections or law to rely on, it’s up to state lawmakers to defend a woman’s right to choose. And I’ll do exactly that when I’m in Tallahassee. That’s why I’ve been endorsed by both Ruth’s List Florida and Florida Planned Parenthood PAC – two organizations leading the fight to protect reproductive rights in our state.

I know we can win this race. Together, we will speak up to protect our rights. We will fight to make sure every person can choose WHEN they’re ready to have a family. And we will pass policies to ensure access to safe and affordable healthcare – including reproductive healthcare.

No matter the obstacles, I’ll never stop fighting.
