I don’t have the words to express the grief, anger, and disappointment in our institutions I feel. Right wing extremists have been building towards this day for years, and when Democratic leadership had the chance to codify Roe into law, they declined.

Instead of politicians tweeting their sympathies today, we call on them to do everything they can to protect access to abortion.

What is the point of having a Democratic trifecta if they don’t fight for us when extremists are ripping away our rights? Democrats must take immediate action and codify Roe. If they can’t follow through on campaign promises as vital as protecting abortion access, what will we tell young voters this fall?

To our movement: if you are reading today's news and feeling despair and hopelessness about where our country is, our hearts are with you. But we cannot let that despair stop us. Remember, we have enormous power. And we can use it to take care of one another, support abortion access work and, most of all, build a movement powerful enough to take on the radical right wing and win.

Right now, it’s critical we send support to local abortion funds, especially organizations in states where abortion care will be, or is already, restricted or banned as a result of extreme Republican state legislatures or the right-wing SCOTUS overturning Roe.
