Friend,
THE MOST HISTORIC GUN VIOLENCE LEGISLATION IN DECADES HAS BEEN PASSED IN CONGRESS AND IS GOING TO THE PRESIDENT TO BE SIGNED INTO LAW!
As a survivor, and someone who has been working on gun violence full time for years, I am overwhelmed with emotions, pride, and gratitude.
When I testified in front of Congress less than a month ago I told the House Oversight Committee that to eliminate gun violence in America, we must swiftly recognize that this is a public health crisis and deliver a public health response. And, because of our collective efforts, Congress has responded.
TOGETHER, we made history. And, most importantly- we are going to save lives.
Democrats and Republicans came together to help address the biggest challenges we face to save lives and keep us safe and did the hard thing because it was the right thing to do.

We can now look survivors and victims of gun violence in the eyes and let them know change is happening and that we are on the right side of history.
After children, teachers, grandparents and community members were killed in Uvalde and Buffalo, this legislation will uphold the most critical goal of our mission at Community Justice–to save lives.
As we reflect on our efforts to serve the survivors, families, and neighborhoods of those affected by these tragedies, we view this act as a first step to provide our people and communities with measures to stop firearm misuse and everyday gun violence at its core.
Join us next Wednesday to celebrate this moment and to learn more about what this means for our communities Click here [[link removed]] to join our next Community Justice National Update Call on Wednesday, June 29th at 6pm EST/3pm PST about the details of this bill and how you can continue to take action in your local community.
Thank you for being the change our community needs.
Sincerely,
Greg Jackson
