Today we?re reporting a total of 886 additional positive COVID-19 cases and 692 additional recoveries for June 18-24. Today?s report includes 849 current cases and 37 older cases newly reported to the health district.

As of June 24, there have been 7,617 breakthrough cases in Galveston County. That?s about 3 percent breakthrough. More than 207,154 Galveston County residents are fully vaccinated.

To date, a total of 20,600 probable cases have been reported for Galveston County. As stated previously, probable cases are reported separate from confirmed cases. A92 probable case means a person tested positive for antigens or antibodies and also met the probable case definition from the Texas Department of State Health Services. Probable cases are not included in the county's confirmed case count because an antibody test and antigen test are not lab confirmed PCR tests.
