Adam Schiff for Congress

There is no easy way to say it, John — the Supreme Court just overruled Roe v. Wade. They ended the constitutional right to an abortion.

I’m heartbroken for the millions of women and people who have feared this decision. Outraged at the disingenuous denials of partisan justices who vowed to uphold Roe as judicial precedent in their Senate confirmation hearings. But most of all, I am fiercely determined to carry on the fight generations have taken up before us to protect women’s rights and move the country forward, not backward.

Here’s what’s about to happen:

Immediately, at least 13 states’ so-called “trigger laws” will go into effect. Banning abortion entirely. In many others, abortion access will be severely restricted, and Republican-controlled legislatures in still more states will move swiftly to outlaw or restrict women’s access to reproductive care. This was always the Republicans’ plan.

It’s a disgrace. And the result of a Supreme Court majority tainted by not one, but two stolen seats at the hands of Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell.

Quickly, can you rush a donation to these abortion funds and reproductive justice organizations working on the ground right now who desperately need our help, now more than ever?

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

No matter what this staunchly partisan and extremist Supreme Court says, we won’t go back.

Not now. Not ever.

In solidarity,

— Adam
