John,

As young people across IL-03 prepare for finals and get ready to go home for winter break, we must call attention to one of the biggest obstacles for this generation -- student debt.

I worked my way through college, and understand the challenge of having heavy debt for twelve years, but I was lucky. Most folks can’t dig out at all.

It is unacceptable that we economically burden these students who just want a fair shot at success.

I’m running for Congress because I believe that education should be affordable and accessible for all. I believe that we should alleviate student loan debt and work towards tuition-free public colleges and universities.

We know that higher education can lead to greater social mobility and economic opportunity. It is time that we make education accessible to all communities.

Add your name if you, like me, believe that Congress should prioritize college affordability and pass legislation to alleviate the student debt crisis.

Onward,

Marie
