It's a historic day--the Supreme Court has finally said what we all have known for the almost 50 years of Roe v. Wade: There is nothing constitutional about taking the lives of children. This monumental decision does not outlaw abortion across the US, but it will allow states like ours to protect life from conception. We must keep working to not just end abortion but to make it unthinkable.
I lead the Values Action Team in the Senate and work every week on ending abortion in America. I was one of the people that presented a written argument to the court when the Dobbs case was first accepted by the court. I have been challenging national media, speaking on the floor of the Senate, encouraging volunteers who serve moms and babies each week at pregnancy resource centers, and praying for this day for so long.
But, the fight is not over. We will keep fighting the right way to protect babies and moms. We must challenge fathers to actually be dads who take responsibility for their children. We must speak up for those who can speak for themselves and to ensure that every person in the nation respects the value of life. Cindy and I stand for life today. Will you join us?
