You've likely already heard the news - the Supreme Court has issued their decision in Dobbs v Jackson Women's Health Organization and has overturned Roe v Wade and Planned Parenthood v Casey. In the coming days and months abortion will be banned in half the states. Fuck SCOTUS. We're doing it anyway. We don't respect the legitimacy of this court or this decision. Courts didn't give us abortion and they cannot take it away. We will aid and abet abortion forever. We'll be sharing more with you about how to support access in your community very soon. But today is the end of an era, and a day to unleash our broken hearts, not just for those who will be denied care but for abortion care providers all over this country, who have risked everything in order to do work that benefits everyone but which very few of us would be willing or able to do. Today, we honor the providers who will be forced to stop, and we let the world know that we never will. WAYS TO SHOW UP: 1. SYA has created a toolkit and materials, designed to be used both IRL and online. You may have seen some of these designs popping up already, and today we've added some gorgeous new posters from visual artists all over the world to this toolkit. Use these materials and their messages in any way you wish! Put fliers on cars at your local mall; stand with your best friend on a street corner, paint your own t-shirt. Get crafty. Today and the following days are the perfect time to get together with your community, make signs, find or create a rally, hang a banner from your home. This is also a time to find your people. Planned Parenthood is asking people to convene at their local courthouses at 5pm local time, and if you'd like to go somewhere and be with other folks, this seems like a good way to link up. Assess your risk tolerance. Go hard. The majority of us out here support abortion, and this is how we find each other. Please document your action and share it online, using the hashtag #AbortionPillsForever, #FuckSCOTUS, and tag us so we can repost. 2. Share information. People will be confused, scared, looking for appropriate info and ways to help. We recommend sharing the following: ShareAbortionPill.Info. This site created by SYA is full of information about abortion pills, where to get information about them, where to get legal help, and other FAQs. INeedanA.com. This easy to navigate site will point people to abortion options in their state. If people live in a state where abortion is inaccessible, the site will point them to other options. It is reliable and regularly updated. AidAccess.org. One of our favorites, this site connects people with physicians who prescribe abortion pills, even before someone is pregnant. Pill mailing times vary from state to state. Pills are medically safe and effective for most people, but legal risks may apply depending on who you are and where you live. AbortionFunds.org. The National Network of Abortion Funds helps people get abortions in a variety of ways. Go here if you need help acquiring an abortion. KeepOurClinics.org. Many clinics in receiving states will be overwhelmed with people needing abortions as we see access continue to fall. This is a great place to support the independent abortion clinics who will be unfairly overloaded in the months and years to come. MAHotline.org. The Miscarriage and Abortion hotline is a confidential text and phone line staffed by physicians who can securely counsel people through self-managed miscarriages and abortions.
