Congress must take action to codify the decision in Roe v. Wade and enshrine reproductive rights into law at the federal level.
Friend,
Today, the Supreme Court overturned the landmark 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade and stripped people of the right to control their own bodies, reversing nearly fifty years of progress on reproductive rights in this country.
Given last month’s leaked opinion from Justice Alito, the decision in this case is not shocking. But it is a devastating setback for reproductive rights and access to health care.
Sign the petition: Tell Congress to protect the right to choose.
Terminating a pregnancy is one of the most difficult decisions a person may make, and it is one that must remain solely with those whose lives are at stake. Congress must take action to codify the decision in Roe v. Wade and enshrine reproductive rights into law at the federal level, so that no politician can make that choice for them.
I will continue to use my power and platform as an elected official to protect a person’s right to choose. If you're with me and my Democratic colleagues—ready to march, rally, volunteer, vote, and loudly demand abortion for all—add your name and demand justice.
In solidarity,
Ro
