Lauren Underwood For Congress

Breaking news, John: The Supreme Court just officially overturned Roe v. Wade.

We knew this was coming, but it doesn’t make this moment any less painful.

Republicans have spent decades attacking reproductive rights — from defunding Planned Parenthood to even setting bounties for doctors or rideshare drivers who help women get abortion care. And today, the Supreme Court’s right-wing majority gave them exactly what they wanted: the reversal of 50 years of legal precedent, wiping out abortion access for millions of Americans.

As we process this news with anger, sadness, and grief, we must also use this moment to strengthen our resolve. We can’t lose our power. I’m more determined than ever, and John, I have hope.

This November, abortion rights, voting rights, affordable health care, and so much more will be on the ballot. It’s more important than ever that we keep the GOP from reclaiming the majorities in Congress and allow them to further roll back our rights.

That’s why I’m personally asking: Will you pitch in to protect this seat and help elect pro-choice Democrats up and down the ballot this November?

As of today, abortion will be immediately outlawed in just over a dozen states. Thankfully, the Illinois state legislature has a pro-choice majority that will keep any legislation limiting abortion from making it across the finish line. This is a prime example of why our elections are so important — and why I’m asking you to not sit this one out.

Thanks for your support on this.
