Partners,

As you likely know, today the Supreme Court issued their decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, eliminating the constitutional right to abortion in America. As health advocates, we know that the Court’s decision will not affect all people equally, and that Black, Latino, and Indigenous people, people with low incomes, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, and people living in rural areas will be hurt the most. We also know that the Court’s reasoning squarely aims to dismantle other fundamental, basic rights, and will have broad implications for our work. Below, please find some initial resources to take action, and stay tuned for more from us and our partners next week.
  • Families USA’s statement on the Dobbs decision
  • Planned Parenthood Movement Building Call: Today at 2pm ET. In the call, there will be an overview of the decision, messaging and patient reassurance guidance, the impact of the ruling, and calls to action for the day. As a note, this call will be closed to press and registration will end at 12:30pm ET due to security concerns.
  • Joint Statement from Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice America, and the Liberate Abortion Campaign Rejecting Threats of Violence
  • Bansoff.org: Bans Off Our Bodies campaign from Planned Parenthood, a one-stop shop to sign petitions, share toolkits with supporters, and find out more about upcoming rallies
  • Abortionfinder.org: Even with today’s horrible decision, abortion is still legal in most of the country. People who need care can use this tool.
  •  Donate to Abortion Funds (and amplify calls for donations) through the National Network of Abortion Funds
We know this is a personal issue for many of you, and we hope that you can be gentle with yourselves today. We stand ready to fight with you all and our leading reproductive health partners in the months to come.

In solidarity,
Melissa Burroughs
