Today, our worst fears were realized: the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and struck down the constitutional right to abortion.

This is appalling and dangerous. The right to reproductive healthcare and people’s freedom to make choices about their own bodies must be protected.

It is more critical than ever that we defeat anti-choice Republicans like Elise Stefanik.

The most effective way to fight back against this devastating ruling is to pass federal legislation codifying the right to an abortion.

Stefanik voted against codifying Roe. An anti-choice group gave Stefanik an A+ because of her commitment to restricting access to abortions. She’s used her enormous war chest to elect anti-choice candidates across the country. And with GOP state legislatures launching a record-setting assault on access to abortion, we must answer the call of the moment and act at the federal level to protect this right, which has now been dismantled.

We will fight. I will always defend reproductive freedom and abortion access.
