Johh,
Last month, Politico warned us that the Supreme Court had decided to overturn the precedent from Roe v. Wade, and today, we live in a country where reproductive choice is not protected. Though we knew that this was coming, this decision is devastating, and it is difficult to come to terms with the loss of a fundamental protection of our rights.
Everyone — regardless of race, income, or zip code — should have access to the health care they need and the right to decide what's best for their body and their family. This decision from the Supreme Court is a clear rejection of this idea, and that is why we must now fight with everything we have to protect our rights in Congress.
While Roe v. Wade is no longer the law of the land, we have the ability in both chambers of Congress to act to preserve access to reproductive healthcare. I promise to continue defending reproductive rights in Colorado and in the United States, but I can't do this alone.
This November, reproductive rights will be on the ballot, and the future of our country will be on the line. Now is the time to protect the pro-choice majority we have and flip as many seats blue with leaders who will defend the right to choose.
Will you show your support for protecting and expanding our reproductive rights? Chip in $10 or more to our campaign as we fight for reproductive rights across the country. >> [link removed]
Abortion bans impact everyone, but their effects fall hardest on people who already face barriers in accessing health care -- particularly Black, Indigenous, and other people of color, people with disabilities, people in rural areas, young people, undocumented people, and those working to make ends meet. Today, new barriers around access to reproductive healthcare have been erected. To defeat these, we need to expand the pro-choice majority in Congress.
I am angry and disappointed that our country has come to this, but I know that the fight is not over. If you are ready to join me in this fight for our reproductive rights, chip in whatever you can today >> [link removed]
In solidarity,
Diana
