Hello,

An unfortunate and serious day has arrived – the Supreme Court just announced their decision to overturn Roe v. Wade . This means the right to an abortion will no longer be federally protected and will fall under state jurisdiction.

There are already 13 STATES, including Michigan, with trigger laws that would ban or severely restrict abortions immediately if Roe is overturned. And a total of 26 states are certain or likely to ban abortion in the aftermath.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer is working tirelessly to ensure Michigan’s 1931 abortion ban never goes back into effect. The stakes could not be higher.

If the Michigan Supreme Court fails to act, the ban would criminalize abortion in almost all cases and charge reproductive health care providers with felonies for providing essential healthcare.

I’m beyond angry as I’m sure you are too, but I’m committed to turning my anger into action. If you’re with me, will you rush $25 or whatever you can right away to keep me fighting for our rights in Congress?

Make no mistake: Reproductive rights are on the ballot this November and if Republicans take back the Senate, Mitch McConnell has said a nationwide abortion ban is on the table.

If we fail to expand our Democratic House and Senate majorities, millions of Americans will lose essential healthcare over this decision and Republicans are okay with that.

It’s clear that we can no longer count on the courts to protect reproductive rights – instead, we need to elect pro-choice leaders up and down the ballot.
