Folks,

Today’s Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade is one of our clearest indicators yet that our nation is at a crossroads.

It’s clear this isn’t a precedent Americans at large or Arkansans at home are demanding be reversed. No matter your race, age, or socioeconomics, I believe women and their doctors should have control over their medical decisions — not the government, not politicians, and not the courts.

This successful attack on Roe will only embolden more attacks on our other constitutional rights. We’re already witnessing an attack on our voting rights, our right to privacy, our access to education, and so much more. At this rate, our children are going to have fewer rights in this country than our parents did. We just can’t let that happen.

This decision from the Supreme Court undermines decades of judicial precedent, and also opens the floodgates for vigilante-style laws that pit neighbor against neighbor and would lead to chaos and a new era of big government-mandated pregnancies.

And Arkansas is one of the few states with trigger laws that will now immediately and automatically ban abortion.

My opponent, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, won’t commit to much of anything beyond protecting herself, her wealthy family’s friends, and her extremist friends from her Trump days —and therein lies the biggest difference in our campaigns. By stopping her and winning this governor’s race, we can chart a positive course for generations of Arkansans to come.

Folks, true power lies within grassroots organizing and mass movements, like the one we’re seeking your help to build here. I’m in the midst of visiting every county for the second time, knocking on doors, hosting community events, and talking to every Arkansan about what’s at stake this November. So while the Supreme Court may have the jurisdiction to make a federal decision on women’s rights, we hold the power to protect everyone’s reproductive choices — by mobilizing this state, together.

Getting an abortion is one of the most deeply personal decisions that can be made. I trust women and their families to make that decision — not partisan legislators.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for being a part of this movement.
