John — the Supreme Court’s outrageous decision to strike down Roe v. Wade means the right to choose is in grave danger for millions of women across the country.
I know that many folks right now are feeling angry, scared, and overwhelmed. And I know that lots of people are also asking a fundamental question: What do we do now?
My answer to this question is: we get to work fighting for our freedoms.
We’ve all been dreading this outcome, even if we’re not surprised by it. Here in Colorado, we prepared by passing legislation codifying Roe v. Wade protections into our state law.
But the harsh reality is that if an anti-choice candidate wins the Governor’s race, they could overturn those protections, eliminate Coloradans’ right to choose, and even imprison women and doctors.
If you agree with me that Colorado must remain a refuge where these vital rights are respected, I’d be very grateful if you could pitch in to our campaign — because reproductive freedom is very much on the ballot in Colorado.

I know this is a terrible day for so many people. It’s understandable to feel afraid for the future. But this is not a moment for hopelessness. It’s a moment for united action. We can build a better future, if we work together.
Despite all the nonsense in politics that doesn’t affect people’s daily lives, elections really do have consequences, John. And if we want to protect the right to choose in Colorado, we must win this next one. It’s as simple as that.
Sincerely,
Gov. Jared Polis
