Changes to the Highway Code

Changes to the Highway Code came into force on 29 January. For the official updates, please find them here.

Hierarchy of users with pedestrians at the top and HGVs at the bottom.

 

Updates on mobile phone use

From Friday 25 March rules in The Highway Code came into force making any hand-held use of a mobile phone while driving illegal, except in limited circumstances. See the updates here.

📢🚨Rail strikes are planned on 21, 23 and 25 June🚨📢

Rail operators are advising people not to travel during this time as there will be severe disruption, cancelled services and no replacement buses.

Engineering works

Northern: Engineering works are planned on 2 and 3 July affecting Leeds - Sheffield - Nottingham routes. Buses will replace the journey between Sheffield - Nottingham. Please check Northern's website for service information.

All operators in the city continue to clean vehicles thoroughly on a regular basis, and windows on buses will be kept open for ventilation.

Lane closure from Sports Ground for 58m onto Woodside Road for gas mains replacement works

Saturday 11 June - Sunday 3 July: Junction of London Road & Queens Road      
Lane closure for Western Power Distribution works. Weekend works only; 24 hours.

Wednesday 22 June - Monday 27 June: Plots 1 & 2 Land at Oakington Close
Three-way lights for Cadent Gas works

Contraflow for emergency Cadent Gas works

Four-way lights for full refurbishment of traffic signals

Thursday 30 June from 7pm-until works complete: A612 Daleside Road between Trent Lane and Poulton Drive inbound only  
Lane closure to allow works to manhole in the road.

Road closure between Heathcoat Street and Western Street due to demolition works.

Monday 9 May 2022 - 31 March 2023: Hucknall Road 
Lane closures for the construction of new cycle route between Kersall Drive & Bestwood Road 

Monday 21 February 2022 - Wednesday 31 August 2022: Silverdale roundabout
Lane closures on Silverdale roundabout and approaches from the A52 and A453 for National Highways junction improvements.

In the final phase they'll address the two larger western junctions, Nottingham Knight and Wheatcroft. Find more detailed information on National Highways website.
