It just happened… the Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade and rolled back the freedom of millions to control their own bodies. It’s a terrifying day for so many of us, and some of our greatest fears have come alive.
Make no mistake about it: This was the decision of a small group of partisan Supreme Court justices who overturned nearly 50 years of precedent in order to satisfy their extreme agendas. This will go down as one of the worst SCOTUS decisions made in our history.
And the effects of it will be instant and catastrophic. Abortion is now completely banned in states where trigger laws were on the books and many more states will move quickly to pass laws that dictate what reproductive healthcare a person can or cannot receive. If we lose Congress to the Republicans, they could even criminalize abortion nationwide.
It’s sad. It’s heartbreaking. We’re angry. We cannot let this be the end of choice forever. We must fight back with everything we have. We must put an end to this blatant assault on our freedom to control our own bodies.
