John,

The moment we feared is here: the Supreme Court has just officially overturned Roe .

What’s next for Maine? Right now, abortion is still legal. Thanks to the leadership of Governor Mills and Maine Democrats, we have some of the most comprehensive abortion protections in the country. But if Paul LePage wins the governor’s race this fall, that could change.

Anti-abortion groups were already excited to rally behind Paul LePage. This decision has only motivated them further. We need your support to help elect Democrats who will protect abortion access in Maine. Pitch in right now. [link removed]

Paul LePage has been trying to ban abortion for years. When asked if the Supreme Court should overturn Roe in 2018, he said “let’s do it.” He also proudly attended anti-abortion rallies throughout his time as governor.

This is not the leadership we need when our rights are being attacked. Abortion access in Maine is not guaranteed under Paul LePage. Without the Roe precedent in place to protect us, the only sure way to protect abortion rights in Maine is by re-electing Governor Mills.

Now is not the time to wait to take action. We need to mobilize quickly to do everything we can to defend abortion access in Maine. Rush in $5, $10, $20.22, $50, $100 or whatever you can now. [link removed]

Thank you,

Maine Dems
