Hi John, This email is not an easy one to write. Like you, I just found out that the Supreme Court has officially overturned Roe v. Wade and struck down the 49-year-old constitutional right to reproductive health care. It’s easy to feel helpless in this moment. But, John, we still have power – the power to elect pro-choice Democrats who will fight to codify these fundamental rights into law and protect reproductive freedoms to all Americans. It’s time to get fired up. We can’t – and won’t – sit back and watch as our constitutional right to choose gets ripped away.
John, this fight is personal to me. The landmark decision Roe v. Wade ushered in a whole new wave of reproductive healthcare opportunities for women – including fertility treatments such as In Vitro Fertilization or IVF. Without IVF, I wouldn’t be a mother and have the most precious gift I’ve ever received in life – my beautiful daughter. Every woman deserves the opportunity to have a family on her own terms. While Republicans like Maria Elvira Salazar may be focused on stripping these fundamental freedoms from us, I will relentlessly fight to ensure that every South Floridian has access to reproductive healthcare. Bottom line: We need leaders in Congress determined to work towards a better, brighter future – and not people who are determined to revoke progress and send us decades into the past. I’m ready to be that leader.

Annette Taddeo is running for Congress because South Florida deserves leadership who will fight for us -- but she can't get there alone.
