While we have known this day was coming for the last few weeks, it cannot be overstated how harmful and shocking it is to see Roe v. Wade overturned in the United States.

The rights that we as modern Americans have come to expect and live by will now be decided by state governments. This means we must channel our anger and outrage to electing Nan Whaley as the Governor of Ohio and breaking the GOP supermajorities in our state legislature in November.

If Mike DeWine is re-elected or if the GOP is able to maintain lopsided majorities in Ohio's legislature, there is absolutely no doubt they will immediately seek to ban abortions outright in our state. At the Statehouse we are already seeing extreme total abortion ban legislation, even without exceptions for rape or incest, work its way through committee hearings. Ohio's extreme GOP supermajority seeks to criminalize women and doctors who seek necessary care, and Mike DeWine promises to sign off on these "trigger ban" bills.
