Friend –
Today the Supreme Court officially overturned Roe v. Wade. Not only does this ruling deny a woman's right to an abortion, it also undermines the freedom of personal choice in matters of marriage and family life.
I am not taking this decision lightly, and I understand that for many women and their families the hours and days ahead will be difficult. But here's what I want you to know: Your grief is justified, your pain is justified, your outrage is justified. Harness your grief. And together — we will fight to protect women, restore Roe, and deliver real change.
If you're reading this in New York, I want to be clear: Regardless of today's ruling, our state will remain a safe harbor for women. Here abortion is a protected right. Here, women control their own bodies and make their own health care decisions.
Abortion is safe and it is legal in New York, but we must stand with every woman in America whose rights are no longer safe.
So today, I am asking you to make a contribution to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund to help in the fight to protect access to reproductive healthcare.
With love,
Antonio Delgado |
