Folks, it’s Congresswoman Susie Lee.

Moments ago, the Supreme Court just overturned Roe v. Wade.

This decision is devastating to myself and so many across the country who expect their reproductive rights to be upheld and protected by their government.

As a direct result of this decision, several Republican states across the country have abortion bans on the books that will come into effect immediately. This means that millions of women across the country no longer have access to the reproductive health care that they need.

Right now, I’m thinking of my daughter and the generations of young women that will no longer have full autonomy over their bodies. It’s simple – it is not the government’s place to legislate women’s bodies. Period.

I’m not going to sit back and let this fly because that’s exactly what Republican politicians want us to do. The fact of the matter is that a majority of Americans are angry with this decision.

If we speak up and fight, we can win federal protections for reproductive rights.

Republicans think this is game over for those of us that value reproductive freedom. But, I’m just getting started and am ready to fight with everything I have on the floor of the House – something my Republican opponent would never do.

Now more than ever, we need pro-choice women in Congress. But, my extremist, anti-choice opponent is doing everything she can to rip this seat from us. If you can, will you chip in $15 or more right now to help me win my battleground seat in November? →
