It’s shameful.
This morning, the Supreme Court officially released their ruling for Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization and dismantled the protections we once knew under Roe v. Wade.
In their decision, they erase our constitutional right to an abortion and undo decades of settled legal precedent. As a result, millions of Americans will now be denied their agency, humanity, life-saving healthcare, and reproductive freedom.
I want to make this clear: This was an extremist decision made possible by Trump, Rand Paul, and the far-right Senators who worked to mold an ultra-conservative majority on the Supreme Court. They all agreed that the death of millions of women — our daughters, our mothers, our loved ones — is not too high a cost to pay to advance their radical, dangerous, and shameful political agenda.
This moment calls on each and every one of us to step up and help as we respond to this historic attack on reproductive rights.
We must abolish the filibuster. We must pass the Women’s Health Protection Act. We must keep organizing to make sure everyone has quality healthcare, including abortion coverage. We must expand the Supreme Court. And we must replace anti-abortion Senators like Rand Paul so we can take meaningful action in the Senate.
The stakes of election day have never been higher.
My determination to fight this election has never been stronger. For my daughters, for the people of Kentucky — I will not back down in this fight.
Together, we must work for the next 137 days to make sure our movement rises up to replace Rand Paul, expand the Senate, and ensure the votes necessary to protect abortion access on the federal level.
We won’t stop until that happens.
