*City residents invited to Nottingham Castle Queenâs Baton Relay event*
The Queenâs Baton Relay for the Commonwealth Games (Birmingham 2022) will arrive in the city in two week's time. This is the 16th official Queenâs Baton Relay â a journey which brings together and celebrates communities across the Commonwealth during the build up to the Games which open on Thursday 28 July.
To celebrate the baton visiting Nottingham, there will be an event at Nottingham Castle with music, entertainment, and the baton itself being handed over. The Sheriff of Nottingham will be in attendance.

There are 3,000 tickets available. The Castle will be closed to usual visitors all day, but this free event is open to anybody living in the city, will be by ticket only, and limited to six per household. Council Tax details (account number) and postcode must be added and will be verified to make the booking.

Everybody is invited to the 19th Inclosure walk which goes through all the Allotted Recreation Grounds and the three miles of Walks given to the people of Nottingham, for ever, by the Inclosure Act of 1845.
Short talks about the history are given at points of interest. The free walk can be joined at the Station, St. Maryâs Church, the bottom of Robin Hood Chase or the Arboretum. It finishes at the Inclosure Oaks on the Forest. Â
