If we could, we would have filled this email with confetti. Can you believe it?! We are celebrating a day we’ve long dreamed of, advocated for, and worked toward: the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
With the Supreme Court’s recent decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, we can officially relegate Roe v. Wade to the history books. This is a momentous victory!

50 Years of Advocating for Life
It took nearly half a century to overturn this wrongly decided case. In that time, an estimated 62 million babies were legally aborted in the United States.
The overturn of Roe marks a victory not only for pro-life advocates but also for our nation—so it is fitting to celebrate. I love to imagine the joy of throwing a birthday party for each of the babies who will be born this year as a result of this verdict!

Writing AÂ New Chapter
Â
The Dobbs decision marks the first chapter in our nation’s new history, but it’s one in which different states will write vastly different stories. Some states have made significant advances in their protection of human rights. They’ve banned abortion after 15 weeks or enacted other common-sense reforms like mandatory waiting periods, the invitation for every mother considering an abortion to view her own ultrasound, or thorough reviews of chemical abortion regulations.
But in other states, the pendulum will swing the other direction. Women and their unborn babies will remain unsafe, as legislators kowtow to the demands of an avaricious abortion industry that puts profits before people. These states will consider themselves “havens,” not for vulnerable unborn babies or mothers wrestling with an uncertain future but for abortion providers. They will make abortion as easily accessible as possible, whether it’s mailing abortion pills across state lines without requiring an in-person appointment or establishing facilities near their borders to attract out-of-state clients.
Â
Today, we celebrate. Tomorrow, we press on.
You have been a faithful friend to AUL, and I hope we can continue to count on your support as we write a new story in which life and love will win across our great nation. In celebration of the overturn of Roe, I invite you to give in honor of the birthdays that will be. The average life expectancy of a baby born in the United States in 2022 is 79 years. To commemorate this decision, would you consider giving $79 to celebrate one birth? Or perhaps you would be led to give a multiple of $79 in honor of additional lives that are being saved.
We’re grateful for the many ways you affirm life and support our mission!
