Making abortion illegal does not stop abortions, it stops safe abortions. This decision to destroy a woman’s right to legal abortion makes us go underground to find a way forward, puts our health at risk, and marginalizes women who are poor and underserved even further by reducing any way out of a lifetime commitment.
