By now, you’ve heard the news: SCOTUS’ extremist supermajority has chosen to overturn Roe. And I want to start by saying that I am with you. I am with you in the heartbreak, the pain, and the fury, and I will be with you at every step in the battle ahead.
We will not let them break us. And what I say to the anti-choice extremists right now is, you have a hell of a fight coming. Because we are NEVER going back.

Abortion is healthcare, and it’s our right. A handful of extremists at the helm of SCOTUS can’t change that fact. As hard as we’ve fought for the last 50, 60, 70 years — we’re going to use every scrap of strength, strategy, and tenacity we’ve gained, and we’re going to keep fighting. Because our freedom to determine our own futures, and decide for our own bodies, is worth it.

I decided to run for office the moment the Casey decision came out, and for the last three decades, I’ve been one of the strongest advocates in Congress for reproductive freedom. Giving voice to those convictions at the highest levels of government is the proudest accomplishment of my career — and I will never stop advocating until abortion rights and the Equal Rights Amendment are codified into law.
Congressional leadership for abortion rights has never been so important, John. But this year, because the redistricting maps have completely changed the lines of my district, I’m in the toughest reelection battle of my career. My promise to you is that I will step up every day for abortion rights, just like I have for my entire life — but I need your help to make sure I can continue this fight.
