The National Wolfwatcher Coalition recently provided $1500 to APHIS WS to procure non-lethal predator damage management equipment to reduce predation or injury of livestock in Michigan.
Equipment purchased may include solar powered led lights, solar powered radios, trail cameras, fladry and other harassment devices to deter wolves and other large carnivores from livestock areas.
Michigan has approximately 1000 working farms in the Upper Peninsula with a population of about 700 wolves. Last year only four farms experienced wolf predation.
