I will not let the new Labor government sweep the terrible management of the COVID-19 pandemic under the rug. One Nation will continue to fight for a proper inquiry so the truth can be exposed.

NSW Teacher and Staff Mandates End

The NSW Education Department has this morning announced the end of its vaccination mandate policy, starting at the beginning of Term 3 next month.



This is welcome news I have been fighting for, although it’s also well overdue. The mandates have been a leading cause of the dreadful teacher shortages in NSW, with many collapsed and unsupervised classes. Some schools have had to close early, while others have sent whole year groups home.



We know that in February 9000 active casuals were told they couldn’t work because they were vaccinated unattested. Off the Department’s payroll system, a total of 15,000 qualified teachers were either sacked, stood down or ineligible to teach due to their recorded vaccination status.





Thank you very much to the thousands of teachers and non-teaching staff who campaigned for this announcement today.

After the rough ride of Covid, it’s well and truly time to get our society back to normal. Especially for the young people who have suffered so much.
