Montana ranchers take pride in raising the best cattle and producing the highest-quality beef in the world.
The last thing they should have to worry about is getting a fair price for their product.
This week in the United States Senate, two bipartisan bills that I cosponsored to support Montana ranchers have passed out of committee and will head to the Senate floor.
Both the “Meat and Poultry Special Investigator Act” and “Cattle Price Discovery and Transparency Act" will help bring fairness and transparency to cattle markets and support hardworking Montana ranchers.
Restoring competition and transparency in the cattle market will ensure Montana ranchers are competing on a level playing field and Montana families are paying fair prices at the grocery store.
It’s past time we put an end to the manipulation and price gouging within the cattle markets.
As your voice in the United States Senate, I’m urging swift passage of these important bipartisan bills to help promote Montana ag.
