Anonymous,
In the face of the climate emergency, we need forests more than ever. But the crown jewel of our national forest system -- the largest intact temperate rainforest on Earth -- is in terrible danger.
The thousand-year-old trees of the Tongass National Forest could start falling soon because the Trump administration plans to open protected areas within this irreplaceable forest to logging.[1] We know that forests worldwide absorb more than one-quarter of all of humanity's carbon emissions every single year -- and pristine forests like the Tongass are a huge part of that.[2]
This Giving Tuesday, we're going all out to save the Tongass and protect the climate we share.
Help Environment Colorado hit our goal of $25,000 before the deadline at midnight tonight so we can keep standing strong for our precious forests and the environment everywhere.

With the help of supporters like you, Environment Colorado and our national network have been working for nearly two decades to make sure the Tongass stays protected. In 2001, our national network was a key part of the effort to enact the Roadless Rule -- the rule that prevents development in the wildest parts of our national forests.
For years, we've stood up for the Tongass together because we believe in the value of wilderness. We want to live in a world where primeval forests full of wolves, eagles and other wildlife are safe to thrive -- and we're committed to preserving a wild world for our children, too.
And now it's not just the Tongass at stake. When we protect our forests, we don't just preserve invaluable slices of wilderness. We're also protecting the planet's ability to absorb carbon and insulate us from the worst impacts of climate change.
Don't miss the midnight deadline, Anonymous. Help Environment Colorado save the Tongass and defend our climate with a donation right now.

Our defense of the Tongass is strong, but we can't keep it up without you, Anonymous.
With your support, we've delivered thousands of petition signatures and public comments to keep the Roadless Rule intact in Alaska and Utah. We've also urged legislators to support the Roadless Area Conservation Act, which will, if enacted, stop President Trump -- or any future administration -- from exempting forests from the Roadless Rule.
The Tongass is counting on us. We need to raise $25,000 before midnight to keep our work going. We need to keep standing strong for our forests and the environment everywhere.
Make your Giving Tuesday gift before midnight tonight.
