Paid Family and Medical Leave rulemaking hearing

On June 22, 2022, the Leave and Care Division filed a CR-102 for Paid Family and Medical Leave rulemaking. The CR-102 was filed to amend existing rules to implement Second Substitute Senate Bill 5649, which passed into law during the 2022 legislative session. The proposed rules implement an expiration date for provisions that currently allow parties to collective bargaining agreements to be exempt in certain instances. The proposed rules also implement the postnatal period and a provision allowing an employee to take up to seven calendar days of family leave in the event of the death of a child they would have been eligible to bond with or were bonding with. View text of the proposed rules and supporting documents in the ?Current Rulemaking? section.

A rulemaking hearing will be held via TEAMs and we encourage anyone interested in the proposed rules to provide testimony.

When: July 26, 2022, 9:00 a.m.

Information on how to attend the hearing can be found in the ?Upcoming Meetings? section.

You may also provide written comments by emailing [email protected] before the close of business on July 26, 2022.

Please note that this hearing is not related to any application or claim you may have filed with the department. This is an opportunity for you to voluntarily provide testimony on proposed Paid Leave regulations at a public hearing that is required by law. Attendance is optional.
