Movie tonight

Tonight, June 23, enjoy Movies Under the Stars, presented by Allied First Bank featuring The Game Plan at Venue 1012. Set up lawn chairs, blankets, and a picnic dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m. or visit Oswego Chik-fil-A?s booth for an easy dinner. One $50 gas card, compliments of Waubonsee Community College, will be given away to a lucky winner tonight at 7:30 p.m.?Movies Under the Stars is part of the Allied First Bank Summer Event Series at Venue 1012. With the recent heat wave and lack of rain, the Village reminds residents to adhere to Oswego's outdoor water use restrictions.

All properties with even-numbered street numbers may use village distributed water for sprinkling or automatic water systems for plant or yard watering on even-numbered calendar dates between the hours of 4:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

All properties with odd-numbered street numbers may use Village-distributed water for sprinkling or automatic water systems for plant or yard watering on odd-numbered calendar dates between the hours of 4:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Voting information & Oswego referendum question

Early voting?ends today at Village Hall, however you may still vote early through the Kendall County Clerk's Office. Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28 for the General Primary Election.?Find more election information.

The following?referendum question?will appear on the General Primary Election ballot on June 28:

?Shall the Village of Oswego impose a real estate transfer tax at a rate of $3.00 per $1,000 of value to be paid by the buyer of the real estate transferred, with the revenue of the proposed transfer tax to be used for construction and maintenance of the Village of Oswego water system, including connection to Lake Michigan water, and lessening the increase in future water rates??

Real estate transfer fees from future residents and businesses will help?offset the cost of a new water source and lessen the increase in future water?rates for all.

Saturday coffee for seniors

Seniors are invited to join Oswego Village President Troy Parlier on June 25 at 9 a.m. Coffee and breakfast treats will be served. This free event will take place at at?Oswego?s new Dog Park,?100 Theodore Drive, Oswego.

Fourth of July Weekend Fun with two concerts and fire works

Opening the holiday weekend early on June 30 at Venue 1012, R-Gang will perform a free concert with Crawford?s Daughter as part of the Allied First Bank Summer Events Series. Crawford's Daughter will deliver an energetic show featuring rock, blues and soul music at 6:00 p.m. R-Gang turns up the volume and opens the dance floor at 7:30 p.m. with Motown hits and rhythm & blues. Cold beverages including beer from Oswego Brewing Co. and wine from Fox Valley Winery will be available for purchase along with tasty fare from local food vendors. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. Outside food and beverage is not permitted at the event.

On Saturday, July 2, head to Venue 1012 for a free concert with opener Marina City featuring American Idol contestant Ryan Argast at 6:00 p.m. and the U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America?s Starlifter at 8:00p.m. Starlifter will play popular music, as well as patriotic favorites. For this concert only, attendees are welcome to ?bring in outside food and non-alcoholic beverages. This free concert is presented by Allied First Bank as part of the Summer Events Series at Venue 1012.

The holiday weekend celebration wraps up on Monday, July 4 with Oswego?s annual Fourth of July Fireworks display. Located at Prairie Point Park, the show is free and open to the public. Fireworks will begin at dusk, approximately 9:30 p.m. In case of rain, the display will take place on Tuesday, July 5.


Open house for Wolfs Crossing/Harvey Road project

Residents are invited to an??open house at Village Hall on Wednesday, June 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. for the roundabout project planned for Wolfs Crossing at Harvey Road. Engineers will be available to answer questions and display the plans.?
