We’re up against our last quarterly filing deadline before Ilhan’s primary, team — here’s why that’s so important to our campaign:

Last quarter, Ilhan’s conservative primary opponent outraised us, and we can’t let that happen again. Our numbers will be going public soon and right-wing donors will be looking for any signs of weakness to exploit.

This isn’t theoretical — it’s happening to progressive women of color all over the country. Super PACs and billionaires are flooding primaries with millions of dollars in last-minute attacks, narrowing Summer Lee’s lead in Pennsylvania and defeating Nida Allam in North Carolina. A super PAC funded by a billionaire hedge fund investor even invested $1 million to try to defeat Rep. Rashida Tlaib in Michigan.

We won’t be surprised if Ilhan is their next target — our campaign faced upwards of $20 million in attacks last cycle.

We can’t let super PACs sway this election — it’s the people who should decide who represents them in Congress. But the status quo is threatened by Ilhan and other progressive women of color who stand up for human rights, fight for critical policies like Medicare for All and canceling student debt, and are part of a growing progressive coalition that puts people first above profit.
