"10-year prison sentence for doctors performing any abortion deemed illegal"

Team:

Michigan Republicans introduced a dangerous law that goes beyond Michigan's already extreme 1931 anti-choice law.

The GOP's legislation "creates a 10-year prison sentence for doctors performing any abortion deemed illegal, and a 20-year sentence for anyone manufacturing, selling or distributing medications intended to induce abortions.” This is abhorrent.

Republicans want to make felons out of reproductive health care providers while the Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade in a matter of days. Every single Republican gubernatorial candidate has pledged to enforce Michigan's dormant 1931 abortion ban and committed to signing new anti-choice legislation into law.

Team, Governor Whitmer is Michigan's last line of defense for families seeking reproductive freedom. She has vowed to stand up and fight to defend abortion access in Michigan and we need to come together to make sure she wins in November.

Right now, the threat to abortion access in Michigan is immediate. We must stand together, united under one goal to stop Republicans who want to take reproductive freedom away from millions of people in our state.

There is too much at stake to sit on the sidelines. With your help, I know we can stop Republicans at the ballot box in November.

When we come together, Team, we win together, and we need to win big this November to reelect Governor Whitmer and elect Democrats who will work with our Governor to protect and ensure reproductive freedom for all. Chip in if you're ready to stand with us.
