Just weeks after devastating mass shooting events in Uvalde and Buffalo (and countless other cities across the country), the Supreme Court has made it easier for Americans to access guns and carry them in public.

Congress must respond with action. But the sad truth is that we have always needed comprehensive gun violence prevention legislation. Democrats have been leading the fight on this since the beginning, whereas Republicans have apparently just realized the scope of the problem.

We've seen what happens when more people have access to more guns: people perish, and that includes grade school children. The GOP has long held the belief that this matters a lot less than the NRA’s political support and cash contributions. Democrats are the only people in Congress who've been consistently agitating for real gun violence prevention legislation. 

In light of this latest decision, it’s clear we’ll stil need a pro-prevention majority to get any work done on common sense gun reform. To do that, Democrats need your support.
