Protecting our Environment

We made a promise to Canadians to ban harmful single-use plastics, and now we’re delivering.

Canadians want a healthy environment with pristine shorelines, parks, and waterways, free of harmful plastic pollution. These steps will ban the manufacture and import of checkout bags, cutlery, and food service ware made from, or containing, problematic plastics, stir sticks, and straws.

By banning them, we will build cleaner communities, while creating good jobs and growing our economy.

National Indigenous Peoples Day

National Indigenous Peoples Day gives us all an opportunity to learn about the diverse histories and honour the stories and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people.

Every year, we celebrate the diversity of Indigenous cultures across Canada and the vibrancy of the Indigenous Peoples who fight every day to keep them alive.

	Making life more affordable Budget 2022 outlines a clear plan on how our Liberal team will continue to make life more affordable. We are getting the job done with $10-a-day child care, providing a $500 payment this year to nearly one million Canadian renters who are struggling with the cost of housing, and increasing the Canada workers benefit.
