Hey there, John — I’m Josh Shapiro, Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania Governor. I’m coming to you directly to explain why it’s so important that you get involved in this race today.

Pennsylvania is a critical battleground state — who we elect as our next Governor will have a lot of power. The power to protect abortion, defend voting rights, help people get ahead, and tackle the big fights facing Pennsylvanians.

They’ll also have the power to appoint the Secretary of State who will oversee the 2024 election. With Donald Trump likely running for president again, it’s critical we have a Governor who will defend the results of the election — instead of potentially overturning the results to install Trump in the White House.

My opponent, Doug Mastriano, wouldn’t protect your freedoms or your voice. He participated in the January 6th insurrection — and wants to ban abortion without exception, led the sham “audit,” tried to overturn the 2020 presidential election results, and wants to outlaw no-excuse mail-in voting. Pennsylvanians deserve better than someone like Mastriano.

This is a consequential race, John — from the future of our democracy to the rights we rely upon, the winner of the Governor’s race will shape Pennsylvania.
