I’ve said it before: I lost the very first election I ran in. It was 2002, and I lost my New Hampshire State Senate race.

I didn’t let that loss deter me – just like I don’t let Republican attacks deter me now. 

We cannot lose this seat. Not this time. Not with Republicans rolling back the clock on women’s health care, climate change threatening our communities, and our democracy itself under attack...

But here’s the problem: our fundraising has slowed down. So much so that my team is having real conversations about where we can trim the budget. In reality, since we only won in 2016 by 1,017 votes, we can’t afford to cut it anywhere.

I’m really hoping we can raise $50,000 today to close that gap. If we don’t, it’s very possible that 2022 could end up exactly like 2002 - with a loss.

2002 has come and gone, but there is one thing that’s clearer as ever: Today, the stakes are so much higher. That’s why I’m hoping that I can count on you to rush $3 or as much as you can to help us win here in New Hampshire and secure a Democratic majority in the Senate.

I ran for office to make a difference for as many people who needed my help as I could and to ensure that every American has the opportunity to succeed, no matter who they are.

If we lose this seat, Democrats will forfeit our Senate majority to Mitch McConnell, who suggested that if he’s in charge, we could be heading for a national abortion ban.
