We the People Matter We the People Matter Dear John, The destructive Montana floods which have taken out bridges and left folks stranded, homeless, businesses closed, and agriculture in jeopardy point to a serious problem. According to the American Road and Transportation Builders Association, Montana “has identified needed repairs on 971 bridges at an estimated cost of $709.2 million.” So it’s a good thing, as Vote Smart reports, that the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act “establishes the Rebuild Rural Bridges Program and appropriates $250 million each beginning 2023 and each year through fiscal year 2026 to improve the safety and state of good repair of bridges in rural communities.” You’d think a representative who cared about rural Montana, and the safety of Montanans in general, would have voted YES on the infrastructure bill. A bill that invests in Montana through improved safety measures, high paying jobs, addressing climate change, broadband expansion, and more. But Matt Rosendale voted NO. Matt Rosendale has voted NO on 94 out of 98 votes since he has been in Congress. Montana needs better. Let’s start getting things done for Montana. Representation matters.
