North Carolina state legislators are expected to unveil and then quickly pass a new budget early next week. That means this week is our last chance to let them know what North Carolinians like you prioritize.
Activating our members to advocate for our shared values is the core of my internship this summer with NCLCV's Director of Strategic Communications Dustin Ingalls. And we can't do it without you, John.
So please take a quick minute to email your senator and your representative now!
Tell them to include Gov. Cooper's strong environmental and energy proposals in the budget.

Hey John, we're interning at NCLCV this summer, working with Dan Crawford as he takes your message to state lawmakers in the legislative building.
But the best way to make your voice heard is to contact legislators yourself. And now is the time.
They're crafting a budget behind closed doors, and they want to get out of town by the end of the month. We have to make sure they include Gov. Cooper's strong environmental and clean energy investments.
Thanks, John!

John, The General Assembly came back in session on Wednesday. One of the items likely on their agenda is adjustments to last year’s budget. Last week, Gov. Cooper presented them with a great proposal that uses some of our budget surplus to tackle climate change and keep us safe from pollution. These should be easy measures for legislators to support, but they must hear from John xxxxxx now. They only plan to stay in session for five or six weeks, and then they’ll go home to campaign for the rest of the year. What’s in his budget? Some highlights:
Are you with us and Gov. Cooper? Let your lawmakers know before it's too late!
